He celebrated the launch of Virgin's new route to Cancun by posing alongside Keith Lemon and Alexandra Burke on the wing of a plane yesterday.

And now that he's arrived in Mexico, Sir Richard Branson has thrown himself into the spirit of the place.

The 61-year-old frolicked on the beach this afternoon, accompanied by Steve Ridgeway, Chief Executive of Virgin Atlantic, and two bikini-clad ladies.

He balanced a sombrero on his head, and playfully stuck a fake black moustache on.

The X Factor winner, 23, showed off her toned figure in a tight red bandeau dress as she joined Richard and TV personality Keith Lemon on the wing of a Virgin plane.

As Alexandra and Richard posed up a storm, they were soon interrupted by Leigh Francis's alter-ego Keith, who wanted a piece of the action.

He decided to attempt to lift up Sir Richard, prompting laughter from the tycoon and Alexandra.

However, it wasn't long before both men end up crashing to the ground - fortunately not falling off the wing of the Boeing 747.

They will spend three days exploring, including visits to Tulum, Chichen Itza, Xplor and, the highlight of the trip - swimming with whale sharks.

Sir Richard said: 'I am delighted to be here to celebrate Virgin Atlantic’s new route to Cancun. Mexico holds a special place in my heart and it is great to be here with all my family and friends.
