Puerto Vallarta is a resort city located on the Mexico’s Pacific west coast. The city of Puerto Vallarta is the government seat of the municipality of Puerto Vallarta which is composed of the city as well as population centers outside of the city extending from Boca de Tomatlan to the Nayarit border. Puerto Vallarta was once named “The Friendliest City in the World” as a sign tells you when entering this beautiful city. Puerto Vallarta Real Estate entices people that have visited there to consider owning their own home or condo. In recent years real estate developers have been buying ocean front and ocean view property and building homes and condos for the guests of Puerto Vallarta that want to own their own place and stay for longer periods of time. The infrastructure has been improved in the last few years to expand the availability of more areas in order to make them more reachable by car, so that property that was not desirable before is now sought after. People that want to buy lots and build a home to their own design or purchase an existing home and customize it to their taste are now finding more options. Real estate developers are also building condo communities that resemble the all inclusive hotel resorts. Puerto Vallarta has experienced a real estate boom and more and more foreigners are calling it their home. As more baby boomers come to their retirement age and are looking for warmer climates and a more relaxed lifestyle, Mexico is an appealing alternative to many Americans and Canadians, especially those living in areas that experience freezing winters. Mexico offers more value for your money in many ways which is appealing to people on a fixed income. I don’t think there is a city in Mexico that has been the location for more American movies and television shows than Puerto Vallarta. From Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s steamy “Night of the Iguana” to Schwarzenegger’s futuristic “Predator”, Puerto Vallarta has been the host to Hollywood’s most famous jet set. And the reasons are many but I think it is because it is so beautiful there. The city of Puerto Vallarta enchanted Liz and Richard to buy houses across the street from each other and then they constructed a bridge across the street so that they could visit each other without being seen. The city sits in the middle of the huge Bay of Banderas and has been a tourist attraction for over 40 years. Since its discovery by Hollywood, Puerto Vallarta has attracted people from around the world. And the city has responded by building some of the nicest hotels and restaurants in all of Mexico. Puerto Vallarta has attracted artists and musicians from all over the globe and has become a center for culture and entertainment. International flights arrive daily and upwards of 300,000 passengers a year pass through the gates of Gustavo Díaz International Airport (PVR) since flying is the way most people get to Puerto Vallarta. But a lot of people are coming to Puerto Vallarta by private yachts and large cruise ships. And once you get there you will find transportation will not be a problem, whether you use buses, cabs, car rental or boats. When you arrive, no matter what time of year, there is always something to do. Water sports begin with just swimming in the ocean to excursions that visit secluded beaches. Scuba diving expeditions and hiking, biking, eco-tours, swimming with dolphins, whale watching and 4-wheeling are also available, as is golf, windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking, surfboarding and parasailing. You may want to pamper yourself with a day at one of the many spas that will make you feel like a million dollars. And if you plan your trip in advance you can make it coincide with one of the major festivals that the town hosts. |
