Trump to Build Baja High Rise

The Punta Bandera condo resort will be approximately a half-hour from San Diego.
Joining the building boom in Baja Norte, real-estate mogul Donald Trump has announced plans to develop a $200 million luxury condo project just north of Rosarito Beach in Baja California.
"For the Trump Organization, this is our first step into Mexico," said Brendan Mann, director of sales for Trump Baja Resort. "I can tell you that Donald and his son (Don Jr.) are very excited about this project. For us, location is everything and this is a great location."
The project does not include a marina or any other boating-oriented amenities, but Trump's entry into the region affixes a stamp of approval on the marked increase in high-end condo projects in the area.
Construction is expected to break ground by January in Punta Bandera at Kilometer 16 - just past the first tollbooth outside Tijuana en route to Rosarito Beach on the Tijuana-to-Ensenada scenic road.
Prices for the condos range from $250,000 to $1 million, amounts considered relatively low even by the rising rates of oceanfront Baja property, which is largely built to appeal to American buyers.
The three-tower project will feature three 26-story towers on 17 acres with 526 luxury units, all of which will face the ocean and the Coronado Islands. Amenities will include restaurants, a spa, fitness center, tennis club and swimming pools.
