Restaurants in the big cities and the resort towns of Mexico have become very sophisticated in the last 20 years so you can expect to find not only traditional Mexican dishes but cuisine from around the world. There is a noticeable difference in flavors and favorite dishes in different areas of Mexico, so make sure you ask the locals where their favorite spots are.
You will find different types of bars and saloons as you explore the main streets and some of the not so main streets. Romantic cliff side bars draw visitors for breathtaking sunsets. There are also American style sports bars, traditional Mexican cantinas and everything in between. Tequila is the national drink and it is served in many different ways. You can drink it straight or mixed in a Margarita or other cocktail type drinks.
